Cairo Dream

Egypt, 2009 - 2016

Cairo Dream explores my complex identity as a Brooklyn-born photographer of Egyptian descent, engaging with Cairo’s social and environmental realities. The project reflects the tension of being both insider and outsider, informed by differing cultural attitudes toward photography and community. Navigating suspicion in both Egypt and the US, the work addresses themes of belonging, displacement, and the responsibilities inherent in photographic practice.
